1. Conditions of Contract

A. China Eastern Airlines carries passengers on flights (or other modes of transport where indicated) in China and elsewhere on contracts that consist of: these Terms and Conditions; China Eastern Airlines General Conditions of Carriage (Passenger and Baggage), available on request, and any applicable tariffs filed by China Eastern Airlines with regulatory bodies; International conventions and Chinese laws; and China Eastern Airlines ' oral or written directions to passengers. In the event of any inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and the General Conditions of Carriage, the General Conditions of Carriage shall prevail. B. If China Eastern Airlines issues a ticket or boarding pass for another carrier's flight, it does so only as an agent for that carrier. C. Unless otherwise stated, a ticket is valid for one year from the issue date. D. China Eastern Airlines will use efforts to carry you and your baggage reasonably in accordance with the date and time of the flight(s) specified, but does not guarantee it will be able to do so. Schedules may change without notice. E. You must: comply with all applicable government travel requirements, including obtaining visas to enter the countries to which you are travelling; and check in by the required check-in time. F. The contract between you and China Eastern Airlines, including any exclusion or limitation of liability, applies to benefit: China Eastern Airlines ' employees, agents and representatives; all other carriers used by China Eastern Airlines to carry you; and those other carriers' employees, agents and representatives, and China Eastern Airlines hold that benefit on trust for them, and can, if requested by them, enforce it on their behalf.

Notes:
1.Applicable if your are travelling between China and the United States
2.Infant is defined as a passenger under 2 years of age who does not occupy a seat in addition to the above allowance, an infant may carry onboard an infant collapsible lightweight pushchair free (if cabin stowage is available).
3.Maximum weight of ANY SINGLE PIECE of checked baggage is 32kg (70lbs), unless it's one of the following:
  • Mobility aids
  • Medical Equipment
  • Sporting equipment
  • Musical instruments
  • Camera equipment
  • Household effects
  • Pets as baggage
  • Diplomatic baggage

Acceptance of any bag weighing more than 32 kg (70 lb) is subject to prior approval and notification upon booking/reservation. Overweight items will be repacked or split into lighter units during check-in otherwise will not be accepted for carriage.

   4. Seating

China Eastern Airlines does not guarantee you any, or any particular, seat even if your reservation is confirmed. You must accept any seat allotted on the flight even if this involves a downgrade, or wait until the next flight on which a seat is available in the class of service paid for.


   5. Overbooking Notice
Top

There is a chance a seat will not be available on a flight even if your reservation is confirmed. This is due to the common practice in the airline industry of overbooking. If an international flight is overbooked, no-one will be denied a seat until China Eastern Airlines calls for volunteers to give up their reservations in exchange for a payment of China Eastern Airlines ' choosing. If there are not enough volunteers China Eastern Airlines will deny boarding to reservation holders in accordance with its policy. People involuntarily denied boarding may apply for compensation in accordance with that policy.

   6. Insurance

Personal and baggage insurance is recommended. Details may be obtained from China Eastern Airlines, or your travel agent

   7. Searches
Top

China Eastern Airlines, government or airport officers may require you to submit to clothing and body searches, require you to submit your baggage to searches or inspections, and search or inspect your baggage with or without you.


   8. Right to Refuse Carriage

China Eastern Airlines reserves the right to refuse carriage to any person who seeks to travel in violation of applicable law, tariffs or the General Conditions of Carriage, or is otherwise in breach of these Terms and Conditions, or under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or it is necessary for the safety or comfort of other passengers or for the protection of property


   9. Smoking

Smoking is not permitted on any China Eastern Airlines aircraft


   10. Dangerous Goods
Top

Dangerous goods fall into the following categories:
- Corrosives (acids, alkalis, wet cell batteries, mercury and articles containing mercury).
- Compressed Gases (flammable, non-flammable or poisonous such as camping gas, butane, propane, oxygen and aqualung cylinders).
- Poisonous and Toxic substances (such as arsenic, cyanides, insecticides and weedkillers).
- Explosives (munitions, fireworks and flares).
- Miscellaneous (dry ice, heat producing articles, engines).
- Infectious substances (such as bacteria, virus cultures)
- Flammable Liquids (such as lighter and heating fuels, petrol and turpentine).
- Organic Peroxides (such as bleaching powders and peroxides).
- Radioactive materials (Matches and articles easily ignited)
- Disposable lighters (refills and book matches)
- Oxidising Materials (such as pool chemicals, fibreglass and repair kits)
- Other Dangerous Articles (such as magnetised material).
